Dr Brent Bauer is the Director of Research for the Integrative Medicine Programme at Mayo Clinic, United States of America. He is also consultant at both Division of General Internal Medicine and Gerontology, as well as the founding medical director of Rejuvenate, the first spa at Mayo Clinic, and of the Well Living Lab, a collaboration between Delos and the Mayo Clinic Centre for Innovation. He has written several book chapters and more than 100 papers on integrative therapies and is the medical editor of The Mayo Clinic Guide to Holistic Health (2024) He is also a member of numerous scientific review panels and is currently collaborating on more than 20 studies being conducted at Mayo Clinic. Dr Bauer has been instrumental in advancing the understanding and application of Tuina therapy as he led a multicentre international trial involving 612 participants, both alone and in combination with physiotherapy, for managing chronic non-specific low back pain, which aimed to provide high-quality evidence for Tuina’s efficacy in treating this common condition.
Professor Tay Boon Keng

Professor Tay Boon Keng is the Emeritus Consultant of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He has held various overseas faculty positions, including a Visiting Professor role at Ningxia College and Taishan College, as well as a senior visiting consultant at role at Liaocheng Affiliated Hospital in China. As the immediate past Chairman of the Medical Board in SingHealth, Prof Tay frequently leads a team of doctors, nurses, and allied health specialists for medical and academic exchanges with overseas medical institutes. Additionally, Prof Tay has been involved in evaluating AI- and robotics-powered hybrid Tuina, developed to address the shortage of qualified TCM practitioners and physiotherapists in pain management.
Dr Michael Mueller

Dr Michael Mueller is the Section Head of Integrative Medicine within the Division of General Internal Medicine and holds the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine. Dr Mueller obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, followed by residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Columbia University. He oversees the Mayo Clinic’s Integrative Medicine and Health Program, focusing on the incorporation of evidence-based complementary therapies into conventional medical practice. Dr Mueller also co-directs the annual “Mayo Clinic Practical Integrative Medicine: Renew, Rejuvenate, Inspire & Connect” conference, which aims to educate healthcare professionals on the latest research and applications of integrative therapies. His clinical interests include non-pharmacologic approaches to pain management, mind-body interventions, and the integration of traditional healing practices into modern healthcare.
